I give up. I like too much music. I ended up digging 463 releases in 2018, which destroys my previous record of 378 in 2017.
I have no remedy for you bro lol
For the first time since posting these lists in 2003, I could not muster the energy to write even a brief description for each album, so the genre is all you get.
Yeah I always like to write a line or two but I know what you mean.

I have also found a ton of worthwhile older releases.
This is your downfall. You can't let go...

On to the list...

TOP TIER (16) (RANKED)

1. Judas Priest - Firepower / traditional/power metal
Well this is good. An old band gets the number one spot.
2. Dynazty - Firesign / melodic metal
Magic happens when that dude opens his mouth to sing.
3. Michael Romeo - War of the Worlds, Pt. 1 / progpower
I liked it but not as much as you.
4. Haunt - Burst into Flame / traditional metal
Not quite getting the Haunt love, but I see it everywhere. Must be me!
5. Skyglow - Thousand Years of Terror / complex thrashy death
Absolutely never heard of lol.
6. Fifth Angel - The Third Secret / American power/ traditional metal
Don't recall
7. Ammunition - s/t / hard rock/hair metal
That much? wow cool
8. Striker - Play to Win / melodic metal
That dude sings and magic happens.
9. Maverick - Cold Star Dancer / melodic metal/hard rock
Now I'm really shocked. I love this album! Can't get no hype going for it and I tried but these Northern Irish boys are the real deal and again a brilliant singer.
10. Satan - Cruel Magic / American power/ traditional metal
I liked it but not as much as you.
11. Unreal Overflows - Latent / complex death
Death worship yeahhhhh!
12. Judicator - The Last Emperor / power metal
Iced Earth worship and much better too.
13. Dire Peril - The Extraterrestrial Compendium /American power metal
Similar but I don't like as much as you.
14. Eternity's End - Unyielding / neoclassical power metal
good
15. Arsis - Visitant / semi-complex thrashy death
don't recall but I think I couldn't get into it too much.
16. Hollow - Between Eternities of Darkness / American power with some prog
Probably not for me.

TIER 2 (21) (UNRANKED)
Holter - Vlad the Impaler / traditional metal
Very good.
Pestilence - Hadeon / death
Psycroptic - As the Kingdom Drowns / complex death
Quasarborn - The Odyssey to Room 101 / thrash
Slugdge - Esoteric Malacology / blackened prog death
4 good 'uns from memory.
Visigoth - Conqueror's Oath / traditional metal
totally epic!

TIER 3 (74) (UNRANKED)
Accuser - The Mastery / thrash
heavy!
Angelus Apatrida - Cabaret de la Guillotine / thrash
always happy with the Spaniards
At the Gates - To Drink from the Night Itself / melodic death
Disappointed overall.
Born of Ire - s/t / thrash
loved this underground one man band.
Gama Bomb - Speed Between the Lines / thrash
Hatchet - Dying to Exist / thrash
thrash never fails
Kissin' Dynamite - Ecstasy / hard rock/hair metal
very fun. Good to see it here..somewhere at least.
Primitai - The Calling / power metal
Good to see my homies here.
Seventh Wonder - Tiara / prog metal
Accept melody into your life!
Soreption - Monument of the End / semi-complex death
Probably like it more than you.
Thrashist Regime - Carnival of Monsters / thrash
Oh yes!
Tremonti - A Dying Machine / mainstream metal/hard rock
the 3rd tier for my bro Tremonti... booo. First tier artist Mr. Frank! :-)

TIER 4 (352) (UNRANKED)
Just out of curiosity does a 4th tier album mean it rates around 6-7 out of 10 and no higher? Just want to link it to how I rate albums these days.
Artillery - The Face of Fear / thrash
Surely a second tier release for me.
Blindman - Reach for the Sky / hard rock/mainstream metal
The Jap band? Nice one
Euphoreon - Ends of the Earth / symphonic melodeath
Big fan! One of the best melodeath albums in recent times.
Guardians of Time - Tearing up the World / power metal
very good
Hostil - Infernal Rites / thrash
good thrash never fails
Into Eternity - The Sirens / progpowerdeath
This was poor in my book.
Kobra and the Lotus - Prevail II / mainstream/traditional metal
Good but not as good as I
Nightbreed - Beyond Inferno / thrash
thrash....never... what? fails!
Riot - Armor of Light / traditional metal/power
very good
Shiraz Lane - Carnival Days / hard rock
hell yeah! check new ep
Skeletal Remains - Devouring Mortality / death
bad ass!
SoulHealer - Up from the Ashes / melodic metal
nice.
Thrashquatch - Axe to Inherit / thrash
you know the mantra...
The Unity - Rise / melodic metal
good to see
W.E.T. - Earthrage / hard rock/AOR
stick this in the top tier and you will be accepted into valhalla!

LIKE 1-3 SONGS ON THE ALBUM (21)
Wildness - s/t ("War inside My Head", "Shadowland", "Alibi") / hard rock
Wildness rules bad - at least you like a couple. War inside my head is a killer tune. Unfortunately this singer has left. Always unsure how a new guy will fit in but anyway good to see you list one AOR band!
