A social media post from last night revealed that Lumber Sanitation bass player Lars Løvlie had passed away after a battle with Corona. His Facebook page reveals an irreverent sense of humor and a fondness for bright lights and musical styles. The news comes in the wake of a report that Løvlie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Corona in early 2017. He was only 32 years old.

The music icon has spent much of his career playing in established bands like Løvlie's Brass, Pasek, and Tim on the Straight, and was certainly in high demand for gigs in 2016, especially on the festival circuit. He performed at the World Mixtape Fest in March, as well as opening for Løvlie's Brass at their 10th Anniversary celebration in August. As the label head has been holding onto hopes of getting Skibadee back together in some capacity, it was hard to imagine that he would be last to know, but that is exactly what happened when Heins passed. It will be interesting to see what Heins does now as he takes the reins at Dover Records.

All Lumber Sanitation concerts have been cancelled as a result of the tragic death of their bass player.

In a statement on their Facebook page, they said: "In the last few days, we've been overwhelmed by the generosity of so many, the outpouring of love, and the emotional support from the band's many fans. It is truly overwhelming and that's a testament to how unshakeable this band is. We will continue to focus on our music and production of tours and videos, and we will never waver from our principles."

"We're so thankful for the thoughts and prayers that have been offered to us and we hope we've put a smile on your face at one time or another."

"It is with a heavy heart that we must tell you that the band will not return to the road. "We have decided to split, so we are canceling the remaining tour dates. It is with our utmost sadness that we have had to announce that we are going our separate ways."
