I think it's great, and then the next couple albums were a case of diminishing returns, as Blackie sorta tried to write the first album again... and I think he himself would now agree with that. But then when he retooled his approach and got heavier and more serious on The Headless Children, he did a great job on that IMO, and that strong songwriting (though not all of the heaviness) carried through to The Crimson Idol.
Yeah, after the debut, I'd say the next best is Headless Children. I personally don't like Crimson Idol much at all. It's like Blackie's DIY attempt at letting Paul O'Neil ruin an album. I actually like SNBE a lot more than Crimson Idol, despite an almost total lack of heaviness. That said, the next best SONG in the WASP catalog is the title track to Electic Circus. The rest of the album is pretty crummy, though.
Their/They're/There - Analog Weekend, T/T/T. Short lived indie rock band featuring dudes from more famous indie rock bands I don't know or care about. This group was kind of like a less adventurous Minus the Bear, minus 100% of that band's detached irony. The lyrics here are emo as fuck.
This doesn't really sound like my kind of thing, but kudos to them for thinking of a memorable band name, heh.
Easy to remember the name, but tough to remember the order! I have to look it up every time. I should create a mnemonic device or something. Their girlfriends said they're never putting it there, for instance.
Astronoid - Astronoid. When I can't think of what to listen to, I usually pick something from the As, because they're at the top of the list, ha ha! I hadn't listened to this in a bit, and it's still as enjoyable as ever. I imagine they'll have a new one out in 2020. I personally think they're the better Mew metal band, although Vola is still cool too.
I should check out some of their studio material. I happened to see them live a few months ago and thought they were pretty solid.
Yeah, it's a pleasant surprise that the singer sounds good on stage. They could use a little more presence, though. They have great merch!
