Demonoid - Riders of the Apocalypse. Always a good time. One of the best death metal albums ever, if you ask me.

Genius Hired Guns - Dutch Mafia. Thought Industry-adjacent one-off. Great disc, kinda like a simpler take on Outer Space is Just a Martini Away.

Coroner - No More Color. An eternal classic. I also listened to a "fan remaster" of Punishment for Decadence on YouTube, and that was shockingly good. Whoever did it really found a way to bring the bass into focus. I think the same person did at least a few of the other Coroner albums, so I might go back and check those out.

Twisted Into Form - Then Comes Affliction to Awaken the Dreamer. I feel like this album tanked because it wasn't Spiral Architect, but it's still insanely awesome, and one of the few true tech metal masterpieces, even if it's not as good as Sceptic's Universe.

Chroming Rose - Garden of Eden. A friend mentioned that Stranger is playing KIT next year, and of course three of the Stranger guys went on to Chroming Rose. If I had never heard this before, I probably wouldn't rate it too highly now, but when it came out, it was really one of the better early 90s German power metal albums.

Darkane - Rusted Angel, Layers of Lies. These are the two. The others are good, even great, but these two are the fucking godhead. I miss Darkane. I'm like Mike Pence, except that I get hard for the Wildoerian Apocalypse, not the shitty Christian one.

Def Leppard - Pyromania. Die hard the hunter, man.

Dream Tröll - Quest for Steel. I love this band. So silly, but so good at what they do, and fairly original to boot. No small feat for a new power metal band in the late teens!

Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos, Warmaster. You shall obey all that he commands!

Potemkine - Foetus, Triton, Nicolas II. Don't know why it took me so long to get into Potemkine. I should just buy everything on Soleil Zeuhl that I don't already own.

Holy Terror - Mind Wars. I started with the remixed tracks on El Revengo, then just went all in on the whole album.

Scanner - Hypertrace. We are the grapes of fear!!!!

Rx Bandits - Mandala. Still beautiful. I hope they make another album someday.

The Futureheads - Powers. If they don't come to the US, I might have to go to the UK!

The New Pornographers - In the Morse Code of Brake Lights. Good, but very samey. Carl Newman just hasn't been himself since after Together. Maybe it's marriage and fatherhood?

Exhorder - Mourn the Southern Skies. Eh. It's okay. Needs more fast songs like "Ripping Flesh" and less grooving.
