I was at a show back in the day, can't remember which year, but it was Danzig opening for Metallica at Pine Knob Music Theater. An outside venue with a covered pavilion, and then a grass-covered lawn.

Well, during Danzig's set someone had the bright idea of grabbing a clump of grassy sod and hurling it into the air. The next thing you know, mob mentality takes over and there are clumps of sod flying all over the place, left and right, like a swarm of overgrown zig-zagging fruit flies. It was chaos and a sight to behold. I can't recall if Danzig stopped mid-way through or what, but someone from the venue came on stage to warn the crowd that the sod-throwing would have to stop or the show would be cancelled.

So it stopped. But in the aftermath, I remember going to a metal show there in the next year or so and there was no more lawn. Metalheads had to enjoy lounging on some bare dry soil since we could no longer be trusted to follow basic rules of human decency. \m/
