Arch Enemy - Black Earth. As much as I hate Arch Enemy anymore, I still love the first couple albums to death, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't go see Black Earth (the band) if they came around.
I saw that band when they were Arch Enemy, that is, when Arch Enemy was Arch Enemy:D They opened for Nevermore at the Bat Cave/Downtime in NY in 2000, and I was the crew (all of the crew, haha). They were much better than Nevermore; Dane was at the bottom of the barrel that night. Michael was very cool, signed my Carnage cassette. The show lost a lot of money.
Yeah, I saw them in 99 or thereabouts at Jaxx in VA. I forget the bill, though. I went to a couple of shows down there that have merged together in my memory. Other bands at the two shows were Emperor, Borknagar (with Nick Barker on drums), and Witchery. I also saw The Haunted there, but that might have been a third show. Was it maybe Witchery/Arch Enemy/Nevermore? I probably wrote a review of the show(s), but it would take me a while to find them.
