Zero Hour - A Fragile Mind
Zero Hour - Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond

I don't really fuck with any ZH that doesn't have Erik on it, but the CDs were cheap so why not. If you're looking for musical variety, ZH ain't it, all the riffs are pretty interchangeable. The singer on AFM is ok, Chris from Power of Omens is sometimes hilariously bad on the other one. Maybe I'll find Dark Deceiver in a used bin one day too!
Good luck! I think the singer on AFM is fine, but the tunes are a bit dull. I think the bros wrote better stuff for Chris, but he's pretty squirrely.
Degree Absolute - s/t

Someone was really dumping off all their Sensory releases :( This is pretty bad though. Some cool ideas, but very scattered and random songwriting and the singer is not good.
I think it's okay, but yeah, the singer is the weak link.
Stratovarius - Visions

This album was actually in my first haul I ever received from Ken back in the day (along with Superior - Behind, Angra - Angels Cry and Treasure Land - Questions) but I ended up losing it. I enjoyed listening to it again after all these years.
The only Stratovarius worth owning is the first Sonata Arctica :) It's basically this album, perfected. I'm more of a Dreamspace/Fourth Dimension kinda guy.
Black Sites - Exile
This is great! Thanks for the heads up! I really hope the trad/goth combo doesn't catch on, though. A couple bands, sure, but a scene? That wouldn't be good.
Deathspell Omega - The Furnaces of Palingenesia
Up to standards. Sometimes I hate the singing, especially when the band is doing some crazy shit in the back and the dude just comes in and literally recites poetry in an evil voice with very little regard for the music and rhythm generally. He works well over the slower tracks though.
That singer is an ultrashitty dude. I'm not sure how I want to proceed with this band.
