Queensrÿche - The Verdict

Continues to grow on me with each listen. Definitely their best since Promised Land, maybe their best since Operation: Mindcrime.

The End Machine - s/t

People were hoping for Dokken with Robert Mason on vocals, but instead they got Lynch Mob Mk. II with Jeff Pilson on bass. There’s some Dokken DNA here, but it’s more of a Shadowlife-era vibe underneath the bluesier Lynch Mob stylings. The music has more of a noodly element to it, which is kind of nice, and Mason sounds great. But there’s definitely some filler here, and I’d much rather listen to Lynch/Pilson’s Wicked Underground.

Lynch Mob - s/t

A mixed bag. Mason sounds great, and there’s some nice guitar work, but the lyrics are atrocious and I don’t know what the hell they were thinking with the horns.
