I know recorded music is supposed to be on the decline, but it sure does not feel that way. It does not even seem like the album format has been much less common. Will the amount of metal released ever decline?

Has any musical genre looked like it would fade away in the past few decades?
For example, are there a lot fewer rock albums being produced these days? Rock seems to be less popular, but I assume there are still a ton of smaller rock bands out there, just like there are metal bands.

I thought there might come a time when there wouldn't be much metal for me to sift through in a given year. Now I doubt that will ever happen. I may get sick of sorting through it all, just like many of you have, but the music will probably still be out there in great quantities for those who want to explore it.
John.

There seems to be a lot more stuff these days than ever before. So many releases and sub genres here now. Back when I started my radio show I’d get maybe 10-15 albums a month being sent to me and being promoted by various companies. Now it’s more like 150 or more a month. Impossible to keep up with
