Since I was in high school in 1986, I'm sure I heard it when it came out. I think my first exposure to Metallica was probably in 1984, with Ride the Lightning. I remember getting a ride to Jr. High School from my sister and we heard "Fade to Black" on the local radio station. I'd wager the first Metallica release I bought was this one. I certainly remember buying "Garage Days Re-revisited" at the record store at the mall and "AJFA" when it came out in 1988. There were lots of kids rocking the "Metal up your Ass" t-shirt at school...ended up seeing them twice on the Justice tour, once with Queensryche and once with the Cult. I last re-listened to "Master" a couple of years back and found it didn't really hold up (Lars is really bad on this one), which was surprising to me. "Justice," on the other hand, sounds as good now as ever.
