Pallbearer was loud. Mostly, they were loud.
They're one of the loudest bands I've ever seen. It's how they fool Decibel readers into thinking they're good, which they definitely are not.
odd take to me. I've seen Pallbearer four times and none of them seemed unusually loud to me.
Every time I've seen them, they've been unendurably loud. I think I've seen them (or, should I say, been at a venue coincidental with them playing) three times.
Kamelot - The Fourth Legacy. Easily their best, and perhaps their only truly great album. Epica is pretty good, too, but the rest range from unnecessary to thoroughly pointless.
This, Karma, and Epica are roughly equal to me, and certainly the bedrock of Kamelot's reputation among longtime power metal fans. (As opposed to the generation of younger/new fans that hopped on with Black Halo and are only dimly aware that they had some albums before then.)
I think Fourth Legacy is head and shoulders above anything else the band ever did. Karma felt like a very uninspired copy, while Epica sounded like a mildly inspired copy.
Freedom Call - Stairway to Fairyland. I had been thinking about pulling this out since I saw Helloween a couple weeks ago. The current Helloween guitarist is on the first two FC discs, coincidentally the only good FC discs.
You liking any Freedom Call to any degree is the surprise of the week.
I contain multitudes. I also own at LEAST two Heimdall albums, although I am in no rush to ever spin those again.
