Yeah, AMOLAD is a bit polarizing -- people seem to either love it or find it kind of boring. I happen to love it. For me, that was the first post-reunion album that made me feel like Bruce rejoining Iron Maiden was actually a good decision.
AMOLAD is actually my third favorite Iron Maiden album overall, behind
Seventh Son and
Powerslave. The songwriting and performances are great, IMO, with only a handful of weaker moments. I agree that "The Pilgrim" has some weaker parts, but I love "Brighter..." and "The Longest Day".
