Michael Blevins proclaimed:
Mekong Delta: The Principle of Doubt, Kaleidoscope, The Music of Erich Zann:

I decided to revisit this stuff, as I seldom listen to anything but the debut and "Wanderer at the Edge of Time" - and sure enough, it's as awesome as I remember. I'd say these guys should have been bigger, but they're just too weird. So very distinctive, though...

Forbidden: Twisted Into Form, Trapped, Distortion:

RIP Tim. He really was a big influence on my playing, and he and Craig made up one of the best guitar teams ever in metal, IMO - two guys that played together well and had separate, but complimentary, voices.

Nevermore: Dreaming Neon Black:

See above. He didn't solo much on this - I think he has two - but his songwriting influence is all over this, especially "The Death of Passion".

Dark Angel: Time Does Not Heal:

Riffs. Riffs. So. Many. Riffs. Starts out great in the writing department, too - "Time Does Not Heal" and "Pain's Invention, Madness" are both killer tunes. Gets unfocused after "An Ancient Inherited Shame", IMO. Still, a surprise at the time, and so much better than "Leave Scars" that I don't know where to start. Certainly not "Darkness Descends", though.

Sabbat: History of a Time to Come:

Yes, I'm the random crazyass that prefers this to "Dreamweaver".

Sadus: Swallowed In Black:

Cool, but never really clicked with me. That hasn't changed - I won't turn it off, but I seldom intentionally put it on, either.

Ron Jarzombek: Solitarily Speaking of Theoretical Confinement:

Yeah, I'll be burning all my instruments, recording gear, and dreams of actually being any good.

Pyracanda: Two Sides of a Coin:

I'd never actually listened to this whole thing before. Solid, but not something I'd spend a lot of time going back to.

King Crimson: Red, Three of a Perfect Pair:

What do I need to say about these that hasn't already been said?

Judas Priest: Firepower, Sin After Sin, Stained Class:

They just won't go away. Last week it was "Defenders".
Excellent Playlist!!!! \m/
