I got there Sunday as Incantation were playing, took me about 1 1/2 hrs. drive either way.

I liked the venue and its vibe. Big place. Was great to see this many friends in attendance. I was in the front row for Repulsion and hung back for the rest this time, mostly conversing, but occasionally springing back into action. The pit was very wide and breezy, and markedly non-hostile as compared to Watain/D666 the night before in NYC.

Repulsion was my reason for being there, and they totally got me with a great April Fool's gag:

Once they were done with punking us, they tore everyone's face clear off. Met up with Matt after their set, always a pleasure talking and a great time hanging out: cheers, man - here's to many more \,,/

Mayhem I found underwhelming this time around, with bright lights beaming on them: in comparison to the other times I've seen them with Attila it seemed lacking in atmosphere. Still, I found some solace in the last four songs. Attila still comes off sick, for sure, regardless. This was my 6th time seeing them, at least.

Carcass were alright, at least Bill Steer did his low gutter vox for the first time in a while. Bill Steer and his Les Paul Jr. were the highlight for me. Enjoyed the old shit in particular, although that drum solo/teasing shit with the snippet of "Ruptured in Purulence" both thrilled and pissed me off at the same time, haha.

Bought only vodka there; no beer or merch for me:) Too bad we didn't meet up with you, dude. But it was a great outing.
