There's the stuff I've already made a post on this week, plus:

Robin Beck - Love Is Here

I wasn't exactly thrilled by the singles, but I noticed it in my inbox, so I gave it a shot. Everything sounded better in the context of the album, which is pretty darn good melodic rock/pop/ Given the connection, I'll throw in the comparison and say it's better than this year's House Of Lords album (one of the most disappointing of the year, following "Indestructible").

Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings

Portnoy's new band had this on my mind, so I revisited it. The album's not as good as I remembered it being, but it's still decent. You can tell Portnoy wanted to go heavier, and the rest of the band were the wrong people to do it. The awfulness of the lyrics should have been a clue things were never going to be what they once were.

And...

Alyson Avenue - Presence Of Mind

Anette Olzon's new band/project has a couple of singles out, which sent me back to this album. God, this is some great AOR/melodic rock. The actual sound is a bit rough around the edges, and Anette wasn't as polished as she is now (the Nightwish situation was never her fault), but the songs were so damn good. It was a one-time deal, but it was one amazing moment. Awesome record.
