First Tier

Cynic - Uroboric Forms - The Complete Demo Recordings
Does this count?
Not really. :-) It will be in my list of older releases I purchased in 2017.
Decadence - Undergrounder
I'm kind of burnt out on the whole Finnish melodic death metal sound. Not a bad album, by any stretch, though.
Man, no one likes this disc. A shame.
Need - Hegaiamas: A Song for Freedom
As I said to Pirage, thanks for this recommendation.
Cool. I own all of their discs. This is probably their best effort.
Persefone - Aathma
Excellent album.
Yeah, their best.
Eruption - Cloaks of Oblivion (disappointed that this is not first tier)
Glad you're not overly excited with this either. After discovering Eruption (Lifeless Paradise) earlier this year, I was looking forward to this. Meh...
I do not care for Lifeless Paradise, but I really liked Tenses Collide when it came out. This new one is fine, but the songwriting is not as engaging. Also, it is kind of odd that they want to be Nevermore now.
Gruesome - Fragments of Psyche EP
YAWN! And Death is my favorite band.
This is getting a lot of shit here. It is fine. One new song. No big deal.
Sunless - Urraca
Surprised that you like it. I'm far from impressed.
I am all into prog black now, hadn't you heard? :-)
Theory in Practice - Crescendo Dezign EP (disappointed that this is not first tier)
Big dissapointment.
Sadly, yes.
Turmion Kätilöt - Dance Panique
Hahaha... what is wrong with you? Never heard of this before, but the name was interesting.
Industrial metal like old Rammstein! Lots of fun.
Vampire - With Primeval Force
Love the Celtic Frost style... but didn't felt the need to return after initial listen. Maybe I should?!
Well, I hate Celtic Frost, but I like this disc. Old skool thrash.
Varg - Götterdämmerung EP
Surprised to see that you like Varg.
Got into them with their previous album. Solid melodeath.

"It's not exactly a horrible album, but it's no better than something by, I dunno, Pagan's Mind or some other shirt-tucking nerdprog band." - Matt Johnsen of Pharaoh
