This week's notables:

Harem Scarem - United

I'm still shocked by how good this is, and I'm considering making a change and putting it up on top of my so-far list of favorite of the year. I have a feeling it's going to absolutely rule the summer season. Awesome album.

Avatarium - Hurricanes And Halos

I didn't listen to the first two, but this is very pleasant. It's better to me than what Leif has been doing on his own for a while, although there are a few times they wander off into boring for a while. Love Julie though. She's way more interesting than Mats Leven.

Adrenaline Mob - We The People

As bad as you would expect. Russell's mid-life crisis continues, and he's still a full-on bro here. One of the worst albums of the year, for sure.

Iced Earth - Incorruptible

Stu is now nothing more than a Barlow clone, and Jon is writing clones of the Barlow songs. It's so predictable and bland that it's almost scary.

Jorn - Life On Death Road

Jorn continues to be boring. He's too good a singer to always release such mediocre music, but here we are again. New band, new writers, still the same ol' tedium. Hugely disappointing.

The Ferrymen - S/T

This is more like it. I like Magnus Karlsson when he's not in Primal Fear, and Ronnie Romero is a good singer (though I don't get the people fawning over him like they are). This is excellent melodic metal, although it would be better if Jorn was singing it. Ronnie's voice is too thin and weak when he tries to be aggressive, but otherwise it's the best Magnus written album since Catley's epic "Immortal".
