That's OK, "Hush" is a Joe South cover anyway, so either way it's only performance royalties - no songwriting or publishing moneys for him there. He started to shun the spotlight even before the "fake Purple" ordeal - in fact, that was him coming back from musical retirement. After quitting Captain Beyond he started a new life in the States as a healthcare professional (I think, respiratory systems), pretty much leaving music. It was said that the lawsuit devastated him financially, he was morally down, and quit music altogether for good - returned to medical field and kept decidedly low profile ever since.Evans gave up all of his Deep Purple royalties to settle that suit, so every time you hear "Hush" in the 50-song classic rock radio rotation he's not getting a cent. I would think that that would cause him to do more with Captain Beyond, not less...Really? Who is in the band? I really like their first two albums!Just Bobby Caldwell, really. Rhino died years ago, and Rod Evans completely dropped off the face of the earth after trying to tour with his own version of Deep Purple and getting slammed with a devastating lawsuit around 1980. So, Caldwell aside, it's pretty much Captain Beyond in name alone.
