Hopefully some day soon we will have the technology where anything that is not an authorized file will be able to infect an illegal user's theft device with a nasty virus that renders any hard drive useless forever.

Yeees. Let us release more nasty viruses into the wild, to destroy the computers of those who download music. And any public computers which downloaders use to download the files. And probably any computers networked with the computers they use to download the files.

Let's destroy countless hard drives that may or may not belong to the guilty parties without due process of law. It always works well, having a cure that's worse than the disease.
