9. Centripetal Force - Eidetic EP / technical metal
Sounds like one I need to check out.
14. Fleshkiller - Awaken / extreme prog metal
Agreed. It's very much in line with Extol. Those guys have been putting out a lot of good side projects lately.
15. The Faceless - In Becoming a Ghost / progressive death
I liked Autotheism a bit more, but it's definitely good. Nothing's gonna touch Akeldama, though.
18. Locust Leaves - A Subtler Kind of Light / extreme prog metal
Sounds worth a listen. Thanks.
21. Vexovoid - Call of the Starforger / semi-prog thrash
It's one of the better Vektor-lite releases, for sure.
Brotthogg - The Last Traveler EP / complex blackened death
Caved - Lost to Time / prog thrash
Extol reference has my interest piqued.
Dodecahedron - Kwintessens / complex black/avant-garde
I like weird stuff. Queued.
Excruciation by Silence - Endless Twist EP / semi-prog thrash
You had me at Aspid.
Neptuniam - Poetry of Creation / complex death
NYN - Entropy: Of Chaos and Salt / progressive blackened death
Setheist - They / semi-prog thrashy power
Sunless - Urraca / complex blackened death
Sutrah - Dunes / complex death
These sound worth checking out.
Archspire - Relentless Mutation / complex death
I liked this more than you apparently, but it did feel pretty samey with their last one, which I liked a lot more.
Dark Matter Secret - Perfect World Creation / instrumental complex death
Diablo Swing Orchestra - Pacifisticuffs / eclectic/avant-garde metal
Huh. I thought this was one of their weaker efforts. Glad you got into it, though.
Drottnar - Monolith I EP / semi-prog black
Feel much the same. Good enough to buy, but not as good as their previous work.
Kreator - Gods of Violence / thrash
I liked this a lot more than you, apparently. Their best since Coma of Souls for me.
Mastodon - Emperor of Sand / modern prog metal
I pretty rarely reach for any Mastodon newer than Crack the Skye. Usually just Blood Mountain or Remission. I've liked all the newer releases fine, but I don't feel the draw back to them like the early stuff.
Suffering Hour - In Passing Ascension / blackened death
Really liked this one. Proggy hellscapes indeed!
Alitor - "Patterns of Redemption" (single)
They have a new one?

As always, thanks for the awesome write-up. Found a few to check out.
