I think Misfit really wants the gub'mint to mandate that hard drive makers have an off-only switch in their hard drives that can be triggered on-demand by goons from the recording industry because the recording industry is full of angels that would never abuse their government-granted power and, as we all know, you have nothing to fear if you're not breaking the law, right?
