I believe that musicians create and release music for public consumption in order to stroke their own egos.

That is such an unbelievably ignorant thing to say that you almost deserve a beating for it. Nobody in the history of the world has ever started to learn an instrument, which is where it all begins after all, with the forethought of wanting his/her 'ego stroked.'

You sound like a bitter loser who wished he had any musical talent and is jealous of those that do, and now you are getting your rocks off seeing the artistic community raped by shameless hordes of thieving music consumers.
