There is no need to go on to make any more albums, because a lot of the time they'll just be a boring rehash of the first one,

Some artists do not fit into this worldview or reality, and they aren't nessessarily the artists on tiny scene-related labels, or larger ones either. Your view on this is completely yours, and anyone that wants to keep making art bad enough will do so, regardless if they can release it properly.

One would hope that all that cream will rise to the top, but you can tell by carefully combing the internet that there are plently of very talented and multifacted artists that will not be heard do to economic restriction(s).

I really do want to see some type of future for the arts in general. Perhaps one sorta like what the first poster put out there. But, for now given the economic circumstances such a near-utopia is hard to acheive with out having the rich sponsor the poor (artists) directly.



(people seem to enjoy going to the symphony well enough).

in most cases untrue. I've read lots of reports the past 10 years about symphonies failing financially, even while being subsidized in most localities.
