Your longest post ever? Dunno, but it's surely in the running.
Could be! I can't help it - when I talk about Bolt Thrower I get carried away!
I'm really just not interested in this album at all, despite being a very big fan of the band through ...For Victory. Like you said, they more or less release the same album over and over, and it's finally begun to lose its appeal for me.
Well, if you ever want to hear it anyhow, you know where to find me!
I also agree with your notes on the band's musicianship: these are not great players by ANY stretch of the imagination, but their performances have charisma and personality, which is much more than can be said for all this Nile, Hate Eternal, and Behemoth crap.
Exactly. Same for Karl, whose growl is uniquely his own, and as charming as such a thing can be.
Rubbish, that stuff. I actually prefer slight mistakes over total clinical precision.
Yeah, there's a pretty sloppy guitar intro on one of these new songs. I heard it and thought, "That's Bolt Thrower, all right!"
1. Realm of Chaos
2. ...For Victory
3. The IVth Crusade
4. Warmaster
5. In Battle There Is No Law
An interesting ranking, to be sure! I don't know anyone else who would put ...For Victory so high, but then I don't really know many other fans of the band.
